Worship Guitar and Travel?

What does travel have to do with a worship guitar site? Not much, unless you’re traveling to Spain to check out some of their exquisite guitars. I did that. I went to Spain a few years ago and played some incredible guitars made by Felix Manzanero.

On the trip, I brought a Martin Backpacker guitar. What I love about this instrument is that it only weighs 2 pounds and easily fits on the overhead of an airplane. I’ve taken my Martin Backpacker on several trips over the years.

I was introduced to this new side business through one of my prayer partners. You can book flights, hotels, cruises and events for most major carriers and the rates are competitive with all the other online travel companies.

ACSI Convention

We’ll be at the ACSI Anaheim Convention Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 19 & 20, 2007. This is for Christian Schools. It’s the Association of Christian Schools International. We’ll have a booth there and I’m giving a seminar on ‘How To Teach a Worship Guitar Class.’

5-Minute Lessons

At both recent shows, CHEA (Christian Homeschool Educator’s Assoc.) and CBA (Christian Bookseller’s Assoc.), I gave free guitar lessons. Most of the students never played the guitar before, but several had been playing for years and I had the opportunity of tweaking their playing. Here’s the video testimony of Jane Laweson, from Remunda Cornterstone Bkst in Wickenburg, AZ, who said she learned more in our time together than her last 5 years of playing!

Would have loved to include you guys too!) We started every lesson with prayer. If you aren’t doing this, you’re missing a HUGE blessing. God does answer prayers and you would be giving Him an opportunity to show you that He is the Best Guitar Instructor around.

He’s leading worship for his High School group now and shared with his mom that since he’s been playing worship songs, he’s noticed how good his playing is getting. God has been blessing his efforts. We met so many interesting people and ministries at the CBA Show. This a a picture with Gill Keith. He publishes the Personal Promise Bible.
